An evening of mystery and dinner for members and guests of Oaklake Trails Naturist Park

Saturday, September 2, 2000 - 6:00 p.m. in the Pavilion (If inclement weather, it will be moved into the Clubhouse)

To Set the Scene

On Saturday evening, September 2nd, we invite you to attend dinner and special entertainment in honor of Labor Day.  Dan Debo of 1960's television quiz show fame will visit Oaklake Trails with his entourage.  Dan has been touring the country seeking the perfect naturist park as a place to retire.  We are honored that he has chosen to visit our location and that he has agreed to recreate - just for us - his popular TV show What's your Dream Job?  You'll remember that it competed with the other network's show of similar title What's My LineWhat's your Dream Job contestants came to the show with a dream occupation in mind and costumed to represent that occupation in an effort to stump the panel.  Those who did, won wonderful prizes.

Everyone is invited and encouraged to "dream up" their wished-for occupation and come costumed to represent it.  Do you sell church steeples, put the sticks in popsicles, the m's on M&M's, run a bungie jump or white water rafting business, let your imagination go and, for one night at least, have your dream job.  Contestants will be chosen from the audience and all others who have costumed - and chose to - may enter the costume parade to be identified by their imaginary occupation.  The most creative will be rewarded with prizes.

But before the evening is over a stranger is found on our grounds.  A dead body and apparently murdered!  Did Don Debo and his traveling party bring this mischief, murder and mayhem with them?  We think so and . . . we dare you to accept our invitation to a murder.  Solving the crime will require your persistent sleuthing.

The Game's Afoot

If you accept our invitation, you'll become involved in a unique form of entertainment - a mystery evening - part melodrama, part puzzle, and part participatory theatre.  You and fellow guests, called together for a pretend event, learn of a murder, and become actively involved in the plot as sleuths.  No harm will come to you but you do play an important part as you work with the detective to unravel the mystery.

As events are unrolled before you - like all great detectives involved in solving crimes, you will question the suspects, study the clues, and examine the evidence.

The object of the game is to devise the most complete and reasonable explanation of the crime.  At the end of the mystery, you and your teammates will put your brilliant solution in writing.

Winners are those who do the best job of coordinating clues, relationships, motives, and alibis to identify the real murderer and to exclude the innocent.

Dare you accept our invitation to murder?  Are you up to the challenge of being the sleuths who might solve the mystery of . . .

The Naked and The Dead
