Families come in all shapes and sizes.  At Oaklake Trails, we encourage the participation of all families.  To demonstrate our commitment to families at Oaklake, we planned FREE Family Day* events in 2023.  We hope you will join us for our second event on September 16th.  Parents, guardians and caregivers are encouraged to participate in activities with their kids.  Activities require adult assistance and/or supervision.    


*Family must include at least one child under the age of 16 to gain FREE admission.  You must complete the Release Form for Minors for ALL MINORS. 


ALL DAY - Giant Jenga AND Giant Connect 4 will be set up near the playground for participants to enjoy throughout the day.


ALL DAY – BUBBLES!: A table will be set up outside the Clubhouse with a variety of bubble-making tools.  Help yourself and have some fun making and chasing bubbles with your family and friends.  (Clubhouse Lawn)


10:00-10:45am – Beaded Jewelry: Join Linda Coward and Lanette Clark for some bead magic!  Make a bracelet or necklace using a variety of colorful beads.  Linda and Lanette will guide students through the process of beading and knotting to create one-of-a-kind jewelry. (Clubhouse)   


11:30am – Co-ed Yoga: Lengthen & Strength: Join Lanette Clark as she guides you through a sequence of poses, pairing the breath with each posture to bring the body and mind into balance.  We will participate in the dance of balancing opposites-humanity and individuality; right and left; hard and soft; effort and ease; masculine and feminine; sun and moon; up and down.  Each practice will begin with slow stretching, followed by poses that will move the body into spaces of elongation and strength-building. Items provided: selection of mats and a few bolsters, yoga straps, yoga blocks; Items to bring: two towels (one for the top of the mat; one to fold) and water. (Cost: Donation-based; Location: Clubhouse) 


1-2pm-Family Yoga with Kristal Chuculate-Smith: For kids of all ages and their caregivers/guardians. We will work on breathing techniques, asana poses, and meditation. Parents/Guardians are required to attend for kids under 12. (Clubhouse)

5:00-6:00pm – GO, GO VAN GOGH! Outdoor Painting: Join Linda Coward for some sunflower painting fun outside.  Linda will guide students as they paint an 8 x 10 canvas using Vincent van Gogh’s Sunflower paintings as inspiration for colors, line, shape and texture. All materials provided. (Clubhouse Lawn)


8:00pm – Kids Only Superhero Dance: This dance is for Kids/Teens only!  (plus their parents/guardians). It’ll be a safe environment, so they will be able to go crazy! Dress as your favorite Superhero.  Costume Parade at 8pm (kids only) with Prizes awarded for Best Outfit!


8:30pm – Superhero Dance with DJ Mike:  Dress up and come as your favorite superhero character. Adult Costume Parade at 9:00pm with prizes awarded for the best outfit.
